Mounding perennial or subshrub. Found across temperate parts of N Hemisphere. Grassy, deep green leaves. Leaves 4in (10cm) ling. Flower stems 12in (30cm) long/1in (25mm) wide. Flowers white, pink or red.
Blooms almost all year on Pacific coast.

- Armeria maritima "Corsica" - dense clumping habit. Brick red flowers come on small heads.
- Armeria maritima "Isobel Burdett" - flowerheads deep pink. flowerstems 8in (20cm)
- Armeria maritima "Launcheana"
- Armeria maritima "Rubrifolia" - very dark red-black leaves. flowers deep magenta.
