Tulipa carinata, Hort. Krelage. Lvs. 3, not crowded, as long as fl.-stalk, slightly undulate, lightly ciliate on edge near base: perianth open-campanulate, 3 in. long, dark scarlet, tinged with green just above and blending into a bright yellow basal blotch; segms. acute, cuspidate; stamens yellow; ovary prismatic; stigmas white, not undulated. Habitat unknown. Vars. rubra and violacea, Hort., are offered. CH
