Trillium vaseyi, Harbison. St. erect from a horizontal rootstock, 10-20 in. high, glabrous: lvs. sessile or sub-sessile, broadly roundish-rhomboidal, abruptly acuminate. 4-8 in. long: fls. dark purple, recurved or deflexed; sepals lanceolate to ovate-lanceolate, acute; petals about the same length, ovate or broadly ovate, acute or obtuse. N. C., Tenn., and Ga., in the mountains.— Allied to T. erectum. CH
