Thymus hirsutus, Bieb. Perennial or subshrub, cespitose and cushioned or procumbent: flowering branches ascending, hoary-pubescent: lvs. not punctate, sessile or nearly so, linear-subulate, obtuse, both surfaces hoary-tomentose, margin ciliate: fls. closely approximate in an oblong head, rose: calyx reddish, hirsute, 2-lipped below the middle, teeth of upper lip lanceolate, acuminate, of lower subulate; corolla-tube included. S. E. Eu. and Caucasus. CH
