Standard Cyclopedia of Horticulture

Thrinax radiata, Lodd. (Coccothrinax radiata, Schum. T. elegans, Hort.). Caudex short: lvs. green, glabrous or slightly puberulent beneath; segms. united to or beyond one-third; ligule broadly rounded, with a short, blunt appendage at the middle: spadix large, 2-2 1/2 ft. long, paniculate. Cuba to Trinidad.—Said to have been known in cult. as T. elegans and T. gracilis. CH
