Swainsona ecallosa, Sprague. Herb, erect, about 2 ft. high, pubescent: lvs. 3-5 in. long; lfts. 6-10 pairs, elliptic-oblong, obtuse or retuse, sometimes mucronate, 1/2 – 3/4 in. long, pubescent on both surfaces; stipules deltoid at base, apex subulate: racemes axillary, 4-5-fld.: fls. lilac-rose; standard without calli, 7-8 lines diam., much longer than the wings; keel broad, obtuse; ovary silky.
