Stapelia pillansii, N. E. Br. Sts. rather crowded, 4-7 in. high, sides concave, angles not much compressed, velvety-pubescent, green: fls. 2-5 together, near the base of the sts., 4-5 1/2 in. diam., inner surface transversely rugose and glabrous, purple-brown without markings, shining, densely ciliate with soft light purple, simple hairs.
