Senecio doronicum, Linn. Leopard's Bane. A hardy herbaceous perennial, floccose-tomentulose to glabrous: lvs. thickish, ovate to lanceolate, 2-7 in. long, 1/2 – 1 1/2 in. broad, the lower usually rather coarsely dentate and narrowed into a winged petiole, the upper much reduced, sessile and entire: heads few, large, including the bright yellow or orange-colored rays 1-2 1/2 in. diam.; bracts of the involucre as well as the bracteoles attenuate, black-tipped: achenes striate, glabrous. S. Eu. —Frequently offered by European dealers, but seldom grown in American gardens. CH
