Sempervivum pittonii, Schott., Nym. & Kotschy. Rosettes 1 – 1 1/2 in. diam., always open, the young ones sessile: lvs. 60-80 to a rosette, ensiform, lingulate or oblanceolate, apex abruptly deltoid-pointed, pale green with large light red blotches, outer lvs. 3/4 in. long; cauline lvs. dense, lanceolate, red-blotched and purple-tipped, densely glandular-hairy: fl.-st. including infl. 4-6 in. high, glandular-hairy ending in a 3-branched, dense corymbose infl.: fls. 12-20, small, 9-12-merous, yellowish white; petals linear-lanceolate, about 3/8 in. long, glandular-hairy on the margin and back. Styria.—Rare in cult. CH
