Pandanus pygmaeus, Thouars. Low spreading shrub, not over 2 ft. high in the center, but sending out from the base numerous horizontal, rooting, annulated branches: lvs. about 1-1 1/2 ft. long, spirally arranged in 3's, linear- subulate, with a clasping base; margins and keels -fringed with small fuscous spines. Madagascar. B.M. 4736.—Said sometimes to be cult, as P. graminifolius. CH
