Notholaena ferruginea, Hook. Lf.-blades 6-12 in. long, ½-1 in. wide, growing on wiry black stalks from thick, dark, scaly rootstalks; pinna; deeply pinnatifid, with blunt lobes; texture thinner; lower "surface densely matted with wool. S. W. U. S. to W. Indies and Chile.
