Nepenthes madagascariensis, Poir. The most outlying species of the genus and native to Madagascar. It forms low upright plants 2-3 ft. high, and bears deep crimson pitchers. It has been intro. repeatedly into French and English stovehouses, but seems to die off rather quickly. G.C. II. 16:685.
