Mimulus moschatus, Douglas. Musk-plant. Perennial, by creeping sts. 1-3 ft. long, villous and sticky, with a musky odor: lvs. oblong-ovate: fls. pale yellow, lightly dotted and splashed with brown, the corolla about 2/3 in. long. Brit. Col. to Calif, and Utah. B.R. 1118.—This and M. luteus have a broad throat. The fls. are normally about ¾ in. across, but in F.M. 1877:248 (var. Harrisonii) they are 1 ½ in. across. Hardy, evergreen trailer for damp shady spots; good for planting under cool greenhouse benches.
