Low tree, with many small hooked spines: pinna: 8-20, the rachis prickly- Ifts. 12-24, thin, ½ in. or less long: heads reddish but becoming lighter colored, about ½ in. long, on short simple peduncles; corolla very small: pod strap-shaped and somewhat falcate, 3-4 in. long. India, Afghanistan.— Intro, in S. Calif.
