Mammillaria plumosa, Web. Densely cespitose, at length forming masses 6-10 in. diam.: axils long-hairy: radial spines about 40, feathered to the tip; centrals none.— This and the preceding are like feathery balls. M. plumosa is sold usually under the name of M. lasiacantha, to which it appears to be rather closely related. N. Mex.
