Jatropha curcas, linn. French Physic Nut. Barbados Nut. Purging Nut. Large shrub or tree, up to 15 ft. high: lvs. long-petioled, somewhat 3-5-lobed like English ivy, almost glabrous, 3-6 in. wide; stipules minute; deciduous: fls. small, yellowish green; cymes many-fld., corymbiform. Trop. Amer.
