Notholcus lanatus, Nash (Holcuslanatus, Lann.). Velvet- Grass. Two to 3 ft. high: blades velvety: panicle greenish or purple-tinged. Eu.—A forage grass of poor quality but of some value on sterile soil. A variegated form is cult, abroad for ornament.
