Gentiana punctata, Linn. Lvs. 5-nerved: calyx 5-7-cut; corolla-tube bell-shaped; lobes ovate, muticous, one- third the length of the tube; anthers finally free. Cent. Eu.—The spots are not arranged in any definite order. This belongs to the section Ccelanthe, in which the seed has a wing of the same color, while the next 5 species belong to the section Pneumonanthe, in which there is no wing, or it is of a different color. Cult, like G. froelichii.
