Gentiana olivieri, Griseb. (G. dahurica, Fisch., which is probably the oldest name). Fls. dark blue, in umbel-like cymes; corolla narrowly obconical; plaits triangular, nearly entire. June-Aug. Mountain pastures, Asia.—By recent authority referred to G. decumbens, but differing from that species only in having equal calyx-lobes. Cult, like G. lutea.—Useful in the rockery, but will not grow well in the hot dry summer of E. U. S.
