Cytisus monspessulanus, Linn. (C. candicans, DC. Genista candicans, Linn.). Shrub, to 10 ft.: branches villous-pubescent when young: Lvs. short-petioled, usually glabrous above, pubescent beneath; lfts. obovate or obovate-oblong, mucronulate, ⅓-¾ in. long: racemes 3-9-fld., short, leafy at the base; fls. fragrant, bright yellow: pod rufous-villous. May, June. Medit. region, Canary Isls. W.D.B. 1:80 (not good). CH
