Fraxinus mandschurica, Rupr. (F. nigra, Var. mandshurica, Lingelsh.). Tree, to 100 ft., with obtusely quadrangular branches and dark brown buds: lfts. 9-11, almost sessile, ovate to oblong-lanceolate, sharply serrate, pubescent or hispid on the veins beneath, 3-6 in. long: fr. oblong- lanceolate, 1-1 ½ in. long. Manchuria, Korea, Saghalin, Japan. S.I.F.2:62 (as F. sieboldiana). CH
