Fraxinus bungeana, DC. (F. parvifolia, Lingelsh. F. Bungeana var. parvifolia, Wenzig). Small tree, to 15 ft., or shrub: winter-buds nearly black: lfts. generally 5, stalked, ovate, obovate or roundish, obtuse to short-acuminate, serrate, glabrous, 1-1 ½ in. long: panicles to 2 ½ in. long, many-fld.; calyx with narrow acute lobes; filaments longer than the linear petals: fr. narrow-oblong, obtuse or emarginate. May. China. CH
