Dracaena fragrans, Ker-Gawl (Aletris fragrans, Linn. Sansevieria fragrans, Jacq.). Arborescent (20 ft. high or more), sometimes branched: Ivs. (1½-3 ft. x 2½-4 in.) sessile, oblanceolate, lax and spreading or recurved, flaccid, green and shining, acute, indistinctly costate: bracts minute, scarious, deltoid: pedicels 1-1½ lines long; fls. glomerate; perianth 6-8 lines long, yellow: berry orange-red.
