Crinum americanum, Linn. Fig. 1109. Florida Swamp Lily. Bulb stoloniferous, ovoid, 3-4 in. thick; neck short: Lvs. l½-2 in. broad and 2-4 ft. long, curved, denticulate: fls. 3-6, usually 4 on an erect scape 20-30 in. high: pedicels 0 or very short; perianth creamy white; the lobes linear or lance-linear; tube greenish, equaling or exceeding the lobes. Native in river swamps Ga. and Fla. and westward. B.M. 1034.—Blooms in spring and summer, but some fls. may occur in winter far S. CH
