Anchusa officinalis, Linn. Biennial or perennial. 1-2 ft. : lvs. lanceolate, hairy, radical ones clustered: fis. opening in pairs, bright blue or purple, in loose, one-sided spikes. June-Oct. Eu.—Effective in masses and of easy cult. The common alkanet.
